60 seconds with 2006 Wimbledon Champion Amelie Mauresmo

What's the single happiest moment of your life, off court?
That's tough.
They're all tough.
They're all tough like this? (smiles) It's hard to answer this because my life is so much around tennis. I wouldn't say one single moment. I would say that because I'm away so often, every time I have dinner with my friends, quality time, having talks with them, is always very special.
What's the most common misconception about you?
Maybe that I'm cold?
Really?
Maybe? From my point of view, that is the image they're receiving, when in private circles, with friends and family, I am enjoying myself so much and having fun all the time.
What's something you know now that you wish you knew at the beginning of your career.
I learned how to work hard on and off the court and everything it takes to play at the highest level I would say around 23, 24, which is quite late. Because when you see the other girls, 16, 17, 18, they're already doing everything that they need to. I was a little laid back and taking things easy and not being professional. So maybe do better, or be healthy.
Slap yourself and say work harder!
Yeah. (laughs)
What's the craziest thing a fan has done to get your attention.
Maybe [at] the Paris Open indoors in the winter, they wait for hours for me to come out.
What's the one thing missing in your life?
Honestly, I don't see anything. I'm happy with what I do, with the people I have around me. I probably wouldn't change it.
Do you have any recurring nightmares?
Not nightmare, but I dream I am flying sometimes.
Any place in particular?
No, I'm just running and then I'm flying, and it's the best feeling.
Your 60 seconds is up. Fly away Amelie, but know this. No one I know thinks you're cold.
(laughs) That's good.
