Meadowood Napa Valley
Contact
St. Helena, California
In the heart of Northern California's Napa Valley, Meadowood is an oak-, pine- and maple-lined haven of privacy and indulgence, where the sounds of chatty woodpeckers and scurrying squirrels make the bustle of St. Helena's restaurants, shops and wineries seem miles away.

Designed to complement the natural landscape, the resort's tennis facilities comprise a gray clapboard pro shop and seven plexi-pave hard courts, all surrounded by flower-filled gardens and statuesque trees; deer are frequently seen grazing on the center court's terraced viewing lawns. A typical week's tennis calendar focuses on the needs of both resort guests and local members, and includes men's and ladies' doubles' clinics, stroke and conditioning drills, drop-in social round robins, and private and small-group lessons. Meadowood also offers match-making, video analysis, and intensive three-day tennis camps.
Off the Court
Equipped with a variety of cardiovascular and weight-training machines, the on-property Health Spa also provides exercise offerings such as private yoga instruction and personal training. A menu of Napa Valley-inspired body treatments include tea tree exfoliant scrubs, harvest wraps and Cabernet grape seed polishes. Other on-site recreation includes almost two miles of hiking and biking trails, two swimming pools, a nine-hole golf course, and croquet. A staff wine educator organizes tastings and vineyard tours
Accommodations and Dining
Eight-five guest studios, rooms and suites are housed in the resort's main lodge and a dozen New England-style cottages, each surrounded by gardens and forested hillside. Although rooms are individually decorated, all feature soft hues, natural-wood beams, wood-burning fireplaces and private terraces. The main lodge is also home to two dining rooms, the casual Grill and the upscale Meadowood Restaurant. Both restaurants' menus showcase regionally grown ingredients and Napa Valley wines.
