Sanctuary on Camelback Mountain
Paradise Valley, Arizona
This boutique hideaway on the north side of Camelback Mountain offers breathtaking views of Arizona's Paradise Valley and easy access to shopping and entertainment in Old Town Scottsdale, just four miles away.

Formerly the renowned John Gardiner Tennis Ranch, the Sanctuary's Tennis Compound strives to uphold the property's rich tennis heritage. On five Deco-Turf courts, a staff of pros conduct a variety of 90-minute daily clinics, agility-training drills, and personalized and small-group lessons. Also offered are match-making services, social tournaments, and ball-machine rental. Proper tennis attire and shoes are not only encouraged, but required.

Off the Court
The resort's Sanctuary Spa offers Asian-inspired body treatments ranging from massages and facials to acupuncture and Tarot card-reading; there is also a meditation garden, yoga and stretch studio, and fitness center featuring cardio and weight-training equipment, free weights, and group exercise classes. Other on-site recreation highlights include an infinity-edge swimming pool, a 25-yard lap pool, hot tubs, saunas, hiking and biking trails, and desert Jeep and horseback tours. Golf is not available on-property, but the resort can arrange tee times at nearby courses.
Accommodations and Dining
Sanctuary's 98 one- and two-bedroom mountain and spa casitas feature minimalist-contemporary decor with Southwestern-inspired accents. Some rooms have fireplaces, exposed-beam ceilings, outdoor soaking tubs, and private decks; all offer spectacular mountain-and-Valley views. The four-bedroom Gallery Casita, once owned by Australian tennis great Ken Rosewall, has a private cushioned tennis court on its roof. The resort's one restaurant, Elements, specializes in Asian-influenced seasonal American cuisine. The adjacent Jade Bar features a innovative wine list including more than 20 by-the-glass selections.
Tennis packages include double-occupancy accommodations, breakfast, unlimited court time, access to the spa and fitness center and taxes and gratuities.
