Originally conceived in the 1930s as a self-contained apartment community, the 3.5-acre Dolphin Square complex near Pimlico Station now includes a 148-unit all-suite hotel with shops, restaurants, a business center and other amenities available on-site. In addition to an outdoor tennis court right by the Thames, recreational facilities available to guests include a spa and fitness center, squash courts, a large indoor pool and a croquet lawn. One-, two- and three-bedroom suites are available with standard rates beginning at around 100 pounds per night and some weekend discounts as low as 65 pounds. |

Not to be confused with the more upscale London Elizabeth Hotel overlooking Hyde Park, this modest B&B-style property near Victoria Station offers 41 rooms and small apartments, with access to a on outdoor tennis court in the adjacent private gardens of Eccleston Square. Double rates, including full English breakfast, range from 79 pounds for small rooms with shared bath to 108 pounds for doubles and twins with private bath. Triples, family rooms and studio or two-bedroom apartments with kitchens are available as well, with rates ranging from 120 to 205 quid a night.
