Enter a doubles round-robin tournament. Take a private lesson with a professional instructor. Their location on the sunny side of the Monterey Peninsula means there are plenty of days to play outdoors in a tennis-friendly climate. |
Gardiner's Resort

Gardiner's Resort was founded by John Gardiner and was the first Tennis Resort in the world. It’s was founded in 1957 and just celebrated its 50 anniversary. Those who played tennis at the ranch included presidents George Bush and Ronald Reagan, entertainers Clint Eastwood, Kirk Douglas and Dinah Shore and former Secretary of State Alexander Haig. Open March through November, the resort offers two, three, and five-day clinics in addition to private and semi-private lessons. They have 8 decco turf courts identical to the surface found at the U.S Open. Private lessons run $60 per hour for members (and resort guests) and $85 for off the street. Mini clinics are $30 (lengths of clinics vary).
