Bud Collins, legendary reporter, television commentator, historian and beloved personality will be joining Tennis Channel's Josh Ross on Thursdays to discuss a wide range of topics in the world of tennis.

Collins has gained a reputation for being an authority on the game, its history and the many personalities who contribute to its story. Recognized around the world, Collins is known for his razor-sharp assessments and trademark, custom-made pants, created using fabrics he collects while circling the globe. He has literally written the book on tennis: in 1977 he published the first of four tennis encyclopedias. He has also scripted numerous other books on tennis and tennis players.

Collins is a member of both the International Tennis Hall of Fame, and the Sportscasters and Sportswriters Hall of Fame, and has won a wide variety of journalism and sportscast honors as well, including, in 1999, the Red Smith Award, considered the highest accolade in sports writing.

I would like to understand why the officials at a tennis matches are certain the crowd is reasonably quite before serving - beginning play. Then the crowd is baraged with a constant extremely loud screaming and are grunting with every stroke throughout a match. ....I love tennis and to watch it in person and on TV...I have just turned off the Austrailian because I am annoyed with this constant and annoying screaming for 1 to 5 hours match - it is tiresome. ....TV tennis is much better with the sound off - but I do like expert commentary. It is not interesting enough to watch with this annoyance.....It is so great to watch with the silent players. I would like the Tennis channel to identify whether players are quite or screamers to better plan watching. ....I am surprised that other viewers haven't complained...
