Kate MacKenzie

Kate MacKenzie - Host of Changeover

Kate MacKenzie began her tennis career at the age of three when her mom gave her a racquet acquired through green stamps. When a local instructor at the public park courts compared her to a young Chris Evert, MacKenzie was hooked. As an amateur player she competed in high school, junior USTA tournaments, and in college. After college, MacKenzie tried her luck on the women's professional tennis tour, where she acquired world-ranking points, traveling throughout the United States, Europe and Africa. Before she could ever receive an official ranking, MacKenzie sustained an early injury, and her dream to be a world class player took a turn for the worse. Unwilling to leave the sport she loved, MacKenzie persisted and found herself quickly recruited as an instructional pro. She taught at some of the most exclusive resorts in the United States at resort destinations like Sun Valley, Idaho and Hilton Head Island, continuing on to become the Head Pro at one of the largest public facilities in the South.

Her coaching career also included extensive work with USTA juniors on local, regional and national levels for the Southern Section. Understanding tennis training and development became a passion, and integrating tennis with health and fitness became a way of life. Her travels and experience have lead MacKenzie to work with tennis players from all walks of life, politicians, rock stars, actors, athletes, wheel chair competitors, special olympians, ceo's, juniors, seniors, beginners and pros. A private coach and published author MacKenzie holds a BA in English from Carleton College and an MBA from Fordham University. She resides in Manhattan and Los Angeles.
