Andy Roddick Charity Weekend

With a 150-mph serve in his arsenal, Andy Roddick is the face of power tennis today.  And though he’s a fierce competitor on the court, the 22-year-old’s heart is as big as his game, and on full display each year at his charity weekend for at-risk children and their families. Visit the Andy Roddick Foundation’s third annual “Helping Children Today for Tomorrow” benefit, the charity weekend hosted by the US Open champion and his family.  The fun and games include Roddick singing, dancing, and auctioning off various items while guest celebrities Chris Evert, Brad Gilbert, Aaron Krickstein, Jim Courier, Patrick McEnroe, and others look on.  A few fans even had the chance to try to return one of Roddick’s trademark blistering serves. When all was said and done, the event raised more than $850,000, all of it on behalf of at-risk children and families, including those that have been abused, abandoned and neglected.  You won’t want to miss this heartwarming example of one of the game’s finest giving back to his community, using his influence to improve the quality of life and enhance educational and economic opportunities for all children, based on the principles of respect for family, education, and morality.
