In our next episode of Destination Tennis, we visit the mythic, Mexican seaside paradise of Cabo San Lucas.Home to the world-renowned One and Only Palmilla Resort and the Palmilla Tennis Club, where American tennis legend Jim Courier hosts the Outback Champions Series event, “The Del Mar Development Champions Cup,” with famed competitors Patrick Rafter, Mats Wilander and the incomparable Pete Sampras.
In the resort city of Cabo San Lucas, Mieke tours the sites, samples the food and learns how to make the best margarita in Cabo with famed hard-rocker Sammy Hagar. We then head north to the art-lover’s getaway at Todos Santos, where Mieke takes in the local culture and happily adjusts to Mexico time. Then we head off-shore for a bit of catch-and-release fishing aboard one of the famous local Panga boats, where hump back whales and baby tuna make an appearance, rounding-out an unforgettable day on the Baja Peninsula.
We conclude our trip to Mexico with a tour of the Cabo San Lucas tennis scene and a visit to the ultra-exclusive beach resort, The Las Ventanas Resort. That concludes our Mexican tennis adventure in beautiful Cabo San Lucas.
