   "... one of the most significant upsets of modern times" - really? Even as you point out Nadal's uncharacteristic and definitely sub-par play, you and so many others need to characterise the FO final as an incredible upset . It just doesn't make sense. What is so "significant" about beating a player who is not playing anywhere near their capacity? Had Soderling beat a Nadal of years past - the man who won all those previous French Opens - then you could make a case for this stupendous and shocking event of "modern times" perhaps. But not the way it went down. Sure Soderling went on playing well and yes he has improved. But this giant slayer thing has been way overdone.

   I agree with most of your article. Especially with Rafa being the supreme sportsman. But surely, the match of the year was the AO semifinal between Rafa and Verdasco.
