Famed luxury stylist Julien Farel of The Julien Farel Group has been grooming the heads of celebrities, socialites and jetsetters since the opening of his first salon on Madison Avenue in December 2001. He has since opened two other salons, The Setai Fifth Avenue in NYC & Capella Pedregal in Cabo San Lucas, as well as celebrated the recent launch of his product line Julien Farel Haircare. Julien is thrilled to be returning as the official hairstylist to the players of the US Open for the sixth year.

Shorter haircuts are making a huge splash here at the US Open, and that remains true for Ana-Lena Groenefeld. The German doubles player came into the JF style suite and asked Alina to cut off her blonde locks into a shoulder length bob! She was so excited about her new do, she even gave us a little fist pump on her way out!
Ranked #21 in the world you can imagine how little free time Julia Goerges has at the US Open, but that didn’t stop her from coming into the Style Suite to chop off her long locks. This is a trend we are seeing with many of the players this year. Perhaps less hair = lighter on your feet? Either way, Julia looked fabulous with a shorter do, and with her coach ooo-ing and ahh-ing as he watched her hair fall to the floor, it was almost as exciting as a live tennis match.
When Jelena Jankovic walked past the salon and saw Julien she immediately ran in with excitement. She embraced Julien and described how badly she needed a trim. As Julien trimmed her hair, she got a hot pink manicure from Maxime of Bastien Gonzalez. Of course as she was finished she put her hair up in a ponytail, the athlete that she is, but not before she took a picture with Julien!
Marcos Baghdatis, the Cypriot tennis player, ranked #39 in this year's US Open tournament came into the JF Style Suite in need of haircut. Although he has a great, full head of hair, he told Julien that his hair was fallling in his face, and this was becoming a problem as he was preparing for his first round match. He typically keeps his hair long and Julien just cleaned it up - making him US Open ready!
USA Professional Tennis Player Rhyne Williams came into the JF Style Suite today and asked Julien to cut all of his hair off! He had long blonde locks and had let Julien know this was the longest his hair had ever been! Bold choice, but worth the risk as he was thrilled with his new, shorter do!
