I feel that commentators, particularly the 2 guys at the Rogers Cup in Toronto 2008, should abstain from talking about a players personal life and not talk badly about a player specially while the game is going on. Its like stabbing a persons back and slandering his name and reputation on TV. While watching Djokovic play against this new Canadian player, this commentator talked about Djookovic being arrogant and something about being humble cause he was the visitor. I think Novak is a very nice guy who just happens to be misunderstood by a lot of people, compared to Roddick's egocentric and immature behaviour during the first round. These comnmentors are too one sided and hope they get to read this, because out here in Asia, we call that unprofessionalism and they should be replaced by decent level headed and non judgemental commentators who can be man enough to talk about players in decent manner. Tennis coverage should be handled by educated commentators who don't take side and who will not talk badly about a players personal past.
AMEN to that !!!
i don't know who those guys are at the rogers cup, but the one with the british accent made the comment today during the djokovic/soderling match that soderling's girlfriend was trying to encourage him from the stands by removing a layer of her clothing...
he should be gone (whoever he is)...
it's bad enough that it is an inappropriate remark and has no place on television, but to think of these athletes working hard and bringing quality tennis to us, and then to have their hard work demeaned by the likes of this guy is intolerable...
i'm writing to the tennis channel about it...suggest all like-minded folks do the same...
