    Gimelstob Apology

Dear Sir/Madam: Perhaps I missed it, but I have not seen an on-air apology from Mr. Gimelstob for his recent "commentary" regarding female tennis players. Has Mr. Gimelstob apologized during your program "Wimbledon Primetime," and if not, then WHY not? In addition, is it really true (as reported on www.tennis.com) that the only step taken by Tennis Channel was to issue a generic "we apologize to anybody who may have been offended" statement? As for such generic "apologies," they have the whiff of disdain for anybody who "may have been offended," as if there were something inherent in them that had to do with their having taken offense; Mr. Gimelstob's remarks were offensive, period, so please do not come with such weak "if anybody"--type language, please. Finally, it must be said that while Mr. Gimelstob has lent us all insight regarding his puerile view of women in general, this episode has shed even more light on his profound lack of intelligence: even were one to share Mr. Gimelstob's bigoted attitude, such a person in Mr. Gimelstob's position would have to be blindingly, bedazzlingly stupid to actually air that bigotry with the obvious pride that Mr. Gimelstob did. This man was EAGER to share his bigotry: "Look Ma, I'm an idiot!" Is this not the behavior of a true imbecile, in Tennis Channel's view? Does Tennis Channel have an answer? They should have never hired him in the first place.  Whatever tennis message boards I go to reflect that nobody has ever liked him.  Not sure what they were thinking!!!  This would be the time to get rid of him.
