There is no way that today's sluggers from the baseline could beat the serve/volley guys in their prime. Sampras and Edberg at the net after one of their booming serves were tough to get past. McEnroe at the net too would have been hard to beat in his prime. Watch some of Pete's matches on ESPN Classics and you'll realize that Roger, with all his intelligence and variety of shots, would have been no match for Sampras. I was at Wimbledon for Pete's last appearance on the graveyard court, an insult that everyone in our queue that day agreed to. That made his last slam at the Open (and subsequent retirement at the top) for me the reason he's the greatest player the game has and will ever have.

I LOVE IT. WHAT A SHOW. IT IS ALL ABOUT WHAT THE PUBLIC WILL WATCH. LOTS OF $ FOR EVERYONE. NOTHING WRONG WITH THAT! GREAT SPORTS ENTERTAIMENT. IT'S GREAT THAT PETE CAN STILL DO IT AND WANTS TO CONTRIBUTE TO MAKING TENNIS A SPORT TO WATCH! BOTH HAVE A LOT OF CHARISMA AND ARE WONDERFUL REPRESENTATIVES.....I THINK McENROE COULD COMPETE BUT I SUGGEST HE DYE HIS HAIR TO LOOK MORE DOMINENT.....IT'S ALL ABOUT SHOWMANSHIP!!! ....

This will no doubt be a lot of fun. In the voting poll, I was very surprised to see the result that Federer would beat Sampras - both in their prime - at Wimbledon ??? Not a chance. Sampras' serve would blow Federer off the court there. Best serve ever in the history of the game !!!!! Nobody's come close, nobody will. Take that serve, add grass - totally unbeatable. I don't care who you are. These are both true gentlemen, and fine examples of successful athletes with tiny egos, and charitable as well. Agassi belongs in this group, probably Connors, maybe Mac the Knife, Mats Wilander, Borg of course.

Pete has nothing to prove; it'll be a lot of fun and I wish the announcers would be the two McEnroe bro;s, they really know the busines...

..I would like to see the players be miked. And for the announcers to not jabber over them while they joke back and forth. It's all about the fun!
