The Manager of Rights Acquisitions is
responsible for program acquisitions activities including program
identification, evaluation, negotiation, and acquisition.
responsibilities will include, but are not limited to the following:
Work closely with Sr. Staff
on complex long term rights agreements critical to the viability of the
negotiations following input from Program Planning, Research, Ad Sales,
Affiliate Sales, Digital, Production, Marketing, and Business & Legal
Solicit content providers
to identify and evaluate available programs for barter or cash barter
arrangement, consistently monitor terms of agreement, and ensure timely
delivery and quality of materials.
Expected to identify, recommend,
and acquire approved programs that meet programming goals. Sets or adheres to acquisition budgets and
continually evaluates the performance of acquired programs against programming
judgment and ability to work independently while maintaining transparent
communication with Sr. staff.
Required to prepare
presentation materials on a regular basis.
This position reports to
the Executive Director of Programming.
Minimum 3 years’ experience
in acquisitions and program planning within a television network.
Possess a successful track
record of generating programming deals.
Strong negotiation skills
and relationship management are a must.
Candidate is expected to
consistently exhibit good judgment and make strategic decisions.
Thrives in team oriented
Excellent oral and written
communication a must.
