"Summer Title Wave" Hits Lond Island With The Tennis Channel's Live Coverage of 2003 TD Waterhouse Cup, August 20-22

LOS ANGELES, August 15, 2003

The Tennis Channel's "Summer Title Wave" telecasts continue from Long Island next week with 18 hours of exclusive live coverage of the ATP tour's superstar-laden 2003 TD Waterhouse Cup in Commack, N.Y. French Open champion and ATP Champions Race frontrunner Juan Carlos Ferrero, ranked No. 2 in the world, headlines the field, which also boasts defending TD Waterhouse Cup champion and Thai sensation Paradorn Srichaphan, German superstar and former tournament titleist Tommy Haas, American talents James Blake and Jan-Michael Gambill and Chilean phenom Fernando Gonzalez.

The Tennis Channel's live telecast schedule from the Hamlet Golf and Country Club's Stadium Court opens serve on Wednesday, Aug. 20 at 4 p.m. ET and continues Thursday and Friday, Aug. 21-22 with 1 p.m. and 7 p.m. ET starting times both days. Calling the play-by-play action for The Tennis Channel will be veteran sportscaster Barry McKay.

Now in its 23rd year, the TD Waterhouse Cup's 32-player main draw this year includes five players ranked in the ATP Champions Race top 20, 10 in the top 30 and 15 in the top 40. The tourney's reigning singles champion Srichapan, a native of Bangkok, upset Juan Ignacio Chela of Argentina, 5-7, 6-2, 6-2, last year for his first career ATP tournament title, a win that helped him become the first Thai player ever to finish the year in the Top 20.
