Senior Vice President of Research
Steve Badeau heads audience research for Tennis Channel. With over 30 years in television, his experience includes broadcast networks, cable networks, and studios including NBC, ABC, Paramount, DreamWorks, and FX Networks. He has served in various capacities in research as well as in television syndication distribution and program development. He has been quoted in USA Today, Broadcast & Cable, Daily Variety and other news outlets and has been a featured speaker at the Advertising Research Foundation, UCLA Extension and other venues.
Steve graduated from the University of Minnesota in public address, and shortly thereafter moved to Southern California in 1980 where he went to work for Jerry B. Wheeler Productions and developed and produced television commercials. In 1982, he landed his first job at a major network, ABC Television, as a beginning Research Analyst. In the late 1980’s, Steve worked alongside Tennis Channel’s Chairman, Ken Solomon, in Paramount’s TV syndication division. Steve has had the honor of working with many other industry leaders including Steven Spielberg and Jeffery Katzenberg. He had the privilege of working on such shows as Cheers, Star Trek: The Next Generation, Entertainment Tonight, Spin City, Freaks & Geeks and many more.
In his spare time, Steve enjoys playing out his architect fantasies by restoring neglected homes. He is also an avid snow skier and lousy tennis player.
